Presenter: Rebecca "Becki" Meehan PT WCS PYT-C

Ms. Meehan received her bachelor degree in Physical Therapy from the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University in 1982. Her early practice focused on acute care, general orthopedics and sports medicine injury, and began work with Women’s Health in 1994. She completed the 3 levels of course work for Bones for Life© in 2009, and attained board certification as a women’s health specialist in 2013. She has a special interest in movement and is currently pursuing training and credentialing as a Therapeutic Yoga provider and instructor through Professional Yoga Therapy. Rebecca is a founding member and an active participant of Birthworkers of Western PA. In her clinical practice, Rebecca works with patients and clients throughout their life cycles with special interests in bone health, pelvic floor dysfunction, pregnancy and post-partum orthopedic problems, movement system impairments and other orthopedic problems. Rebecca is co-owner of Embody Physiotherapy & Wellness, LLC in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, and brings over 32 years of experience to her practice. In addition to treating patients, she teaches movement and yoga classes within the practice, addressing needs for clients of all ages and abilities. She is active in the American Physical Therapy Association including the section on Women’s Health and the Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association. Rebecca is active in community education with topics of bone health, pregnancy, pelvic floor health and post oncological conditions, and teaches in local advanced yoga programs. She is involved in local professional education and mentoring to practicing physical therapists.
