Sustainable Saturday: Go Fish!

Saturday, February 4, 2017
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Eden Hall

Cost: $25 per project; $20 if you bring your own 2-liter bottle*

As a living, learning campus, guests are invited to Chatham University’s Eden Hall to learn how we can reduce water and energy to grow our own food year-round.

Each group will use an assortment of reused materials to build their own mini-aquaponics system, which uses a beta fish and basil plant to grow herbs for your own kitchen.

Using materials including a 2-liter bottle and an old wash cloth, we will build a system that also uses zero energy.

Guests will also be guided through our on-campus aquaculture lab, featuring a homemade aquaponics system that uses both tilapia and plants to grow local food for our cafeteria.

*Program fee is per take-home craft (“project”), not per participant.

Lunch will be available for purchase after the event in Eden Hall's cafeteria.
