"Health Disparities Related to Maternal Obesity"

Dr. Davis is a NIH funded clinical researcher with a patient-oriented and comparative effectiveness research program focused on obesity-related health disparities in women and children and in treating tobacco use in hospitalized patients. Much of her work focuses on understanding how psychosocial factors, insulin resistance and perinatal weight change contribute to the development of obesity and cardiovascular disease in women. In addition, Dr. Davis is a board-certified practicing Family Physician with over 20 years of clinical expertise in the acute and chronic management of adults and children, with specific focus on women's health. She coordinates an outpatient contraception clinic in Turtle Creek and maintains a part-time primary care practice at Montefiore Hospital’s General Internal Medicine Practice.
