Susan Boser

Susan Boser is a professor at IUP, and her research focuses on how local government can combat social problems. She is a leader with the Indiana County Sustainable Economic Development Task Force, where she works with county government and local organizations to contribute to the county’s economic development plan. Boser is on the Board of Directors for the Community Guidance Center and serves as the Treasurer on the Steering Committee for the Food Co-Op of Indiana, PA. Before teaching at IUP, she had 20 years-experience working for human services in rural, southwestern New York. Her work included providing home-based assistance and drug and alcohol rehabilitation to families in crisis. She is focused on creating job opportunities, combating the opioid crisis, raising the minimum wage, expanding mental health care services, supporting small businesses and agriculture, revitalizing infrastructure, and ensuring rural areas have high-speed internet.
