Success Coach Graduate Assistantships

Chatham's graduate programs in Counseling Psychology offer Success Coach Graduate Assistantships (SCGAs) to incoming M.S. in Counseling Psychology and PsyD students. Success Coaches will interact with undergrad students in one-on-one sessions and over phone/email to make sure that they have the resources needed to succeed at Chatham, and to troubleshoot issues that might prevent their successful transition to and ability to stay in college. SCs and students work together for four semesters, with SCGAs able to:

  • develop ongoing relationships with undergraduate students and effect real change in their lives
  • gain significant experience through training, observing, and working with students

Grad Psych Achievements

Dr. Jennifer Morse received a $1.8 million grant for a program designed to raise the number of psychologists trained to meet the behavioral health needs of vulnerable and medically underserved populations and provide quality care in an interdisciplinary setting from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). Chatham faculty members Leigh Bryant Skvarla, Ph.D. and Mary Jo Loughran, Ph.D., and MSCP student Meredith Deal have accepted a $12,500 grant from the NCAA to develop a web-based program to assist coaches as they support the mental health needs of student-athletes. Learn more »

Dr. Wonjin Sim, has been awarded a grant to investigate the process and outcome of Vocational Growth Psychotherapy Sessions (VGPS) in Asia, Europe, Africa, Central America, and South America. Her research team is especially interested in studying spiritually integrated therapy as a way to improve the cultural sensitivity and effectiveness of psychotherapy for clients outside of North America.
