Updates for 10/9

Because of technical difficulties, university cards cannot yet be used at any of the Eat 'n Park restaurants. They are working on a solution, but it could take some time.

Updates for 9/25

Mobile Ordering:
Mobile Ordering is now LIVE. Orders can be placed from 11:00am-5:30pm (last pick up is 6:00pm) Friday, and Monday-Thursday 11:00am-7:30pm (last pick up is 8:00pm).  Pick up locations are at Anderson or Cafe Rachel.

To help you, we've come up with two "How-to's" that can be found at any time on my.chatham under Dining Services documents. Online ordering can be found here, and mobile ordering can be found here.

Merchants labeled "meal swipes" will accept student meal swipes or faculty/staff meals. Merchants labeled "declining balance" will accept student FLEX or cougar dollars.

Grocery Ordering:
A "How-to" for placing grocery orders can be found here.  As a reminder, students can use up to 2 meal swipes ($16)/week towards groceries.

**If you do not receive an email confirmation from any of the ordering options above (groceries or mobile), we do not have your order, and a step may have been missed in the process.

Updates for 9/21

Based on service utilization, Dining Services has modified its offerings:

Changes to Hours
  • Anderson will close at 9 pm (on days that it was open until 10 pm) - this will be revisited when athletics begin practices in a few weeks.
  • Eastside hours are adjusting to M, W, F 11:00 am-2:00 pm & T, TH from 11:00 am-6:00 pm.
  • No changes at Eden Hall Campus at this time.
  • For a full list of hours, visit the Dining Page on MyChatham.
Changes to Services
  • Satellite food options will no longer be available at the Carriage House and Welker Room. Welker will still be available for eating and studying.
  • Tent: We will continue with grill service from 11:30 am-1:00 pm M-F - weather permitting.  If it is forecasted to rain, we will closely watch the weather and may have to adjust our schedule or cancel for the day. When it begins to get colder, we will send an update.
  • Cafe Rachel: We will start to be adding more snacks and items that will be available for purchase. This will also be a Mobile Ordering pick-up zone.
  • Mobile order update: The start date of 9/22 may be delayed. We are working to get more information. We will share our menus soon so you can have a preview.

Dining Changes

In order to promote safety in the dining areas, a number of changes are being put into place.

  • Your daily temperature check card must be shown prior to entry into our facilities, and masks must be worn at all times, except when seated at a table and eating.
  • A temperature-controlled tent will be setup on the Shadyside campus for additional seating and dining capacity.
  • Prime dining times will be revised to adequately serve all students, while maintaining social distancing. Anderson Dining Hall will employ 30-minute reserved dining times. If at any time our dining room is at capacity, we will ask you to take either the Pick 3 option or to-go.
  • Due to timing, all made-to-order stations will be changed into prepared items and feature an all-in-one meal. Prepared & packaged deli sandwiches and made-to-order grill items will be available M-F 2:00-4:30 pm and Sun-Thurs 8:00-9:00 pm. Made-to-order eggs and omelets will be available M-F only from 7:30-9:30 am.

Changes in Hours of Operation

All locations are adding a 30-minute shutdown twice a day to allow our team to do a deep clean disinfection of all of our areas.

For the latest hours of operation by location, please visit the Dining Page on MyChatham.

Layout Changes

  • Eating and servery areas will be reconfigured. Tables and chairs will be set up as advised by Allegheny County Health Department and CDC requirements. It is forbidden to move any tables or chairs at any time. Seating in Anderson Dining Hall and Chatham Eastside will be reduced capacity and the number of chairs per table will be reduced. Dining tables will be on a GREEN = GO (disinfected), RED = STOP (needs cleaned) system, where guests can flip to red when finished dining.
  • All self-service areas in Anderson Dining Hall, Chatham Eastside and the Eden Hall cafeteria in the Esther Barazzone Center will be discontinued in favor of served stations, Pick-3, or to-go. Beverages will remain self-served, but we will have an adjusted disinfecting schedule, and also will purchase equipment, where possible, to make beverages touchlessly dispensed.
  • We’ve made the decision to move to all disposable plates, napkins, "silverware". All of the items, including silverware and appropriate condiments, will be served with your food at each station. We are not using our re-usable to-go containers this year.
  • There will be a one-way aisle into the dining space and a one-way aisle out.

Additional Health Precautions

  • We’ve enhanced our cleaning schedule, to disinfect high-touch surfaces on a more frequent basis.
  • We’ve always had a no-bare hand contact policy, but are having our team members change gloves a minimum of every 30 minutes. In addition, all team members:
    • have signed a health awareness policy and know to stay home when feeling sick
    • have been through advanced safety training
    • will have their temperature checked prior to clocking in for their shifts
    • are required to wear masks except while on their break/eating

Safety Ambassadors

The safety ambassadors are team members who help carry out our safety efforts with team members and guests. They will remind you of what is different, encourage you to help stay (and keep us) safe, and remind you what we’ve done to help you stay safe. Just look for the yellow ribbon on their name badge if you have any questions!

Satellite Dining Locations at Shadyside Campus

Welker Room is available for eating and studying. There is additional seating in the tent by the pond. We will also have a grill available by the tent Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and on Tuesday and Thursday it will feature a salad station. Café Rachel will have vegan & gluten-free entrée options available by request in the Pick-3 Program.

Cafe Rachel

Cafe Rachel will only offer espresso beverages and serve as a Pick-3 location for a meal swipe. All seating will be removed, and the entrance/exit and traffic patterns will be adjusted.
