New England Alumni Discussion with Dr. Jennifer Morse on A New Model of Care

Tuesday, August 18, 2020
3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Zoom

Join us for a chance to connect with fellow alumni in your area and hear from Jennifer Morse, PhD, Professor in Counseling Psychology and Executive Director of Counseling & Wellness at Chatham University, as she speaks about a new care model that is being rolled out in the fall for students. This new model focuses on quicker and easier access to care, as well as more flexible follow-up options. After Dr. Morse’s remarks, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussion.

Dr. Jennifer Morse is the recipient of the 2019-2020 Jane Burger Advising Award, which was established in honor of 1966 alumna Dr. Jane Burger. This student nominated award recognizes a faculty advisor who embodies the sensitivity, mentoring spirit, and commitment to students that Dr. Burger herself also expressed. Dr. Morse prides herself on her hands-on, heavily involved style of mentoring and advising. She engages with students through their academics, personal, and professional development in order to support them in and outside of the classroom.

Dr. Jennifer Morse came to Chatham following 15 years of NIH-funded research on the assessment and treatment of personality disorders and late-life mood disorders. She joined Chatham in 2011 to focus on teaching and training counseling psychology graduate students and diversity climate and social justice research. Dr. Morse was able to combine those into a Behavioral Workforce Education Training grant funded by Health Resources and Services Administration. These combined interests combine well in her current role as Executive Director of Counseling and Wellness, which focuses on seeing the big picture of counseling and wellness needs at Chatham and building collaborations between the Counseling Center and academic departments, especially Counseling Psychology. In the rest of her life, she spend time raising a feisty daughter, doing equity and inclusion work, dancing NIA, and trying to remember that living and working are a process, not a balance.
