Please join us for a Pre-Lecture Reception at 6:00 p.m. and a Lecture & Q&A, "Is This Mic On? The continued fight for race and gender equity" at 6:30 p.m. with Dr. Reynolds on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.
Dr. Reynolds joined YWCA Greater Pittsburgh as CEO in 2020 and is leading a four-part strategic plan targeting social justice issues that include the Center for Race & Gender Equity, the Early Learning Center, the Equity Resource Center and Youth Services. Along with managing the functions at the local YWCA, she is also responsible for working with its statewide coalition of associations and serves on YWCA USA’s national strategic business plan implementation group. Prior to her role at YWCA Greater Pittsburgh, Dr. Reynolds served as Senior Director of United for Families and 2-1-1 at the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Dr. Reynolds began her career testing for housing discrimination through the Fair Housing Partnership, before embarking on an Assistant Professorship at the University of Pittsburgh’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs. There, she taught statistics, public policy, and research methods and conducted research on racial disparities in housing and criminal justice. She has also taught as an adjunct professor in the Public Policy and International Affairs program at Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College. Dr. Reynolds is a recipient of the Fair
Housing Partnership’s Open Doors-Open Minds Award, The Women of Influence Award, and
the Athena Award for Women’s Leadership.
A native of New Haven CT, Angela has called Pittsburgh home for many years. She holds a Ph.D.
in Public Policy Analysis from the Heinz School at Carnegie Mellon University; an M.S. in
Statistics also from CMU; and a B.A. in Mathematics (Sociology minor) from Bryn Mawr College.
