Mary Gay Scanlon

Mary Gay Scanlon has been advocating for the rights of children, low income families, and women as a lawyer for more than 33 years. She has worked with the Support Center for Child Advocates, the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Commission on Children at Risk, the Education Law Center of Pennsylvania, and represented the U.S. Women’s Hockey Team and Women’s Soccer Teams in their respective strikes for equal pay. She experience representing and defending the rights of students with disabilities and the parents of these children to ensure everyone has access to quality education. Scanlon has a long history of assisting those fleeing violence and persecution, including refugees, political asylum seekers, victims of crime, domestic violence survivors, and human trafficking survivors. Scanlon protects the right to vote by combating voter suppression and gerrymandering, and she volunteers with the Wills for Heroes program providing free estate planning for veterans and first responders.
