District: PA-104

Party Affiliation: Republican

Susan “Sue” Helm

Sue Helm took office in 2007 with an aggressive agenda to fight for fiscal discipline, economic growth, government reform, and family safety. She has, and continues to be, a strong voice for the concerns of all residents. Before running for office, Helm had a successful private sector career as a manager at Capital Blue Cross, before starting her own real estate business. Sue points to the last three on-time, balanced budgets with no income tax increase, as an indication of positive change in Harrisburg. She has also supported legislation to provide additional funding for infrastructure upgrades, and to maintain affordable and quality health care access. Committed to leading by example, Sue refused a taxpayer-funded car and the automatic legislative salary cost of living adjustment, and she posts her office expenses on her website for all to see. She has supported the creation of PennWATCH, a website so the public can see how their tax dollars are being spent.
