Karen Boback

Dr. Karen Boback was elected to serve the 117th Legislative district in 2006. Her goal is to be accessible, approachable, and attentive to the concerns of her constituents. She is a well-known advocate for the most vulnerable citizens, educational issues, veteran’s affairs, and the environment. She is one of the founding members of the Luzerne/Wyoming Counties Elder Abuse Task Force. Since 2017 she has served as chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Education, among her other committee assignments. Representative Boback has dedicated her life to improving education, and she has been a positive influence on the youth of her community. Before her election, she taught in the Tunkhannock Area School District for 33 years. Currently, she actively volunteers with community organizations including Dallas Rotary, Dallas Kiwanis, Wyoming County Chamber of Commerce, Wyoming/Lackawanna Counties Farm Bureau, and Tunkhannock Business and Professional Women’s Club, among many others.
