Sara Johnson Rothman

Sara Johnson Rothman moved to Philadelphia in the early 2000’s to attend Temple University. After her graduation, she joined the Bucks County District Attorney Office as an Assistant District Attorney, specializing in sexual abuse of children and domestic abuse. Sara also led the overhaul of the DAO’s first-time offender program for nonviolent crimes. In 2014, Johnson Rothman was appointed to the Upper Dublin School Board, and was elected Vice President in 2017. Under her leadership, the School District updated hundreds of policies and administrative regulations while expanding its anti-harassment and anti-discrimination policies for students and employees to include gender identity and gender expression. One of her proudest accomplishments was improving the relationship between the Board and the local Teacher’s Union. Johnson Rothman is ready to apply her leadership and analytical skills to the state legislator and expand her commitment to her community.
