Workshop: So, You Want to See Success on Supermarket & Retail Shelves
The SBA Pittsburgh District Office is teaming up with Center for Women’s Entrepreneurship to offer an in-person workshop on strategies to get your products onto retail shelves. If you are a food maker or make retail products with visions of seeing your products on local market shelves, then this workshop is for you.
Two small business owners with vastly different products will share their entrepreneurial journeys to get their items on local shelves. Allianna Moximchalk, owner & founder of Allianna’s Kitchen and LaShesia Holiday owner & founder of Naptural Beauty Supply will share best tips, tricks and approaches to marketing products wholesale.
Nicolette Spudic, the Director of Business Support at Chatham University’s Center for Regional Agriculture Food Transformation (CRAFT) will be discussing the labeling of consumer products.
Tyler Kulp, Store Operations Manager at the East End Food Co-op will share strategies to keep in mind as you apply to be a vendor.
Community & Membership Engagement Coordinator Michelle Price will discuss the Center’s programs and services to help entrepreneurs launch and scale their businesses.
SBA Lender Relations Specialist Lynn Ann Vozniak will speak on the SBA’s three traditional lending programs and how to effectively articulate your funding needs to any lender by using the different elements in the SBA’s Lender Match Program. SBA Micro-lenders from the region also will be present to meet with attendees.

ServSafe® Food Manager Certification
Offered in collaboration with the Center for Regional Agriculture and Food Transformation (CRAFT), the next round of ServSafe Food Safety Manager Certification in-person training will be held on July 20th-21st at Chatham University Main Campus in Shadyside.
ServSafe is a food safety training administered by the U.S. National Restaurant Association which prepares food industry leaders to implement essential public health practices and create a culture of food safety. Pennsylvania law requires at least one employee per licensed food facility to hold a nationally recognized food manager certification during all hours of operation.
