Indicators Used
INDICATOR |
DESCRIPTION AND HOW IT WAS CALCULATED |
One Year Attrition and Retention Rates |
Formula: the 2nd year enrolled/not enrolled divided by the total cohort number=retention rate/attrition rate. For example, In Fall 2021 there were 5 full-time new students in BA Accounting. In Fall 2022, 4 of them returned. Therefore, retention rate is 4/5 = 80%, Attrition rate is 1/5 = 20%. |
Full-Time New Freshman Cohort Graduation Rate |
Formula: total number of graduates divided by the total cohort number= graduation rate. For example, there were 10 full-time new freshmen in BA Accounting in Fall 2017. 8 of them graduated from Chatham. Thus, the graduation rate for this group student is 8/10 = 80%. |
Master-Degree New Student Cohort Graduation Rate |
Formula: total number of graduates in Master degree program divided by the total cohort number = Master degree graduation rate. |
*For Online Majors: BA Business Administration |
|
One Year Retention Rate |
Formula: The retention rate is calculated without the graduated students included. For example, in the BA Business Administration program, there were 14 students who took classes under that program version in the 2021-2022 academic year. 10 of them returned within the year (10/14=71%). |
