Mentoring for Women Business Owners

December 9, 2010 to January 31, 2011
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Howe-Childs Gate House, Chatham University, Shadyside Campus

The Mentoring for Women Business Owners program is a seven month program where women business owners are matched with seasoned, successful business professionals in the region. Admission is by online application process in the fall of each year. Each mentee is matched with a mentor through a process that ensures good "chemistry" to foster a learning environment. The formal mentoring relationship is self-paced. Each partnership is required to meet at least once per month for a seven-month period. The primary benefit of the mentoring program is the experience mentees will receive in a one-on-one mentoring relationship. Mentors provide insight, knowledge, coaching, make connections to other resources, and motivate by example. Formal mentoring opens the doors to women who may not normally be mentored through informal channels. Also included in the program are monthly educational workshops at Chatham University, held from 6:30-8:30pm.
