This partnership means UPMC nurses can advance their education and career at minimal to no cost (some restrictions may apply). Plus, when you earn your MSN from Chatham, you’ll obtain advanced nursing and leadership skills that you can immediately practice in your job.
This program offers an August or January start date with a convenient part-time track structured to help students succeed by balancing work and school. All students in the program will pursue a part-time track of six credits per semester (no more, no less) for five consecutive semesters, completing a minimum of 30 credits in two academic years following the course progressions.
Chatham’s program offers concentrations in leadership or education, and the curriculum includes 15-week, asynchronous courses. The MSN program's curriculum will expand your knowledge and skillset through courses like Leadership for Quality and Safety in Healthcare, Business Management in Healthcare, Informatics and Healthcare Technology, Communication and Collaboration for Leadership, and more. Explore Goals & Outcomes : Checkerboard 5 - Program Goals & OutcomesAll students in the MSN and DNP programs, including the BSN-DNP and MSN portion of the RN-MSN tracks, are required to complete in-person practice experiences (PE). Students are encouraged to select their work location as their PE site, if appropriate, noting that paid work hours will not count as PE hours. Alternatively, students can select an appropriate PE site that matches their area of interest and location. Students must provide PE site information to establish a Chatham-initiated affiliation agreement before the site is approved for PE. The program will assist students in identifying an appropriate PE site if assistance is needed.
As a UPMC nurse applying to Chatham's MSN program, you'll have robust support from our admissions team every step of the way. Once enrolled, you will have access to an academic advisor to guide you through the program. Plus, our partnership with UPMC means we will handle all billing directly with UPMC once you complete the necessary verification with UPMC each semester.
