Friday Afternoon Musicale: A Journey Through the Eyes of Music

Friday, November 15, 2024
4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
James Laughlin Music Center

Join us at Chatham University’s James Laughlin Music Center Friday, November 15th, at 4:00 PM for an afternoon of Piano works by Liszt, Debussy, Ravel, Albeniz, Kapustin, Guarnieri, and Liebermann, featuring Pianist Amy Simpson.

This imaginative program brings the sounds of various romantic, impressionist, and contemporary composers, as they "paint" beautiful nature scenes and images of special places, along with idioms from the Americas. Pianist Amy Simpson is an Adjunct Faculty member at West Virginia University and an instructor for the Preparatory School at Carnegie Mellon University. Amy also presents workshops for musicians on neuromusic based on her doctoral research.
