Nursing (MSN for UPMC Nurses) Overview

UPMC nurses can now earn their Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) online from Chatham University at the same price as UPMC’s annual employee tuition advancement benefit. This partnership means UPMC nurses can advance their education and career at minimal to no cost (some restrictions may apply). More details and specifics on this educational benefit available to UPMC nurse employees are outlined below.

Why Earn An MSN?

Earning an MSN can increase your earning potential and help you advance through UPMC’s My Nursing Career Ladder, opening new leadership, management, and job opportunities. Plus, when you earn your MSN from Chatham, you’ll obtain advanced nursing and leadership skills that you can immediately practice in your job.

Pace Yourself

This program offers an August or January start date with a convenient part-time track structured to help students succeed by balancing work and school. All students in the program will pursue a part-time track of six credits per semester (no more, no less) for five consecutive semesters. A minimum of 30 credits is required to earn the MSN degree, and most students will complete this program in two academic years (five successive semesters) following the course progressions. Chatham’s program offers concentrations in leadership or education, and the curriculum includes 15-week, asynchronous courses. Once enrolled, you will have access to an academic advisor to guide you through the program.
