BIOGRAPHY
Donald J. Gabany, M.F.A. is an Award-winning Producer, Director, Cinematographer, Underwater Videographer, Steadicam Operator, Lighting Director, and Editor with his own company, GabanyFilm Productions. He has been a professional in the field of film and video production for over 30 years. He has won several Telly Awards, Videographer Awards of Excellence, Silver Crown Award, and a Community Service Project of the Year Award. He is an Adjunct Professor at Chatham University in the Film and Digital Technology Masters of Fine Arts graduate program since 2007. He has also been a member of the faculty at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in the Digital Film and Video Production department since 1991 where he has been awarded twice the AIP Student Choice Award for Outstanding Faculty of the Year. He has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Film Production from Point Park University and the Pittsburgh Filmmakers along with a Master’s of Fine Arts in Film and Digital Technology from Chatham University. He also has collaborated on several video installation art pieces that have been displayed at several galleries.
