Nancy Siegel ’81, “Mindfulness and Meaning: How to Navigate Daily Life (Even) in Troubled Times” Join Nancy Siegel, a nationally recognized presenter, instructor and teacher trainer specializing in Mindfulness Education, for an experiential and scientifically evidence-based mindfulness workshop. Learn how mindfulness can benefit you and those around you during difficult times. You will learn simple and easy to use mindfulness exercises to enhance your daily life. You will walk away feeling calmer and more centered and better equipped to manage life stressors. Biography: Nancy Siegel has a Master's in Educational Leadership and is an Educational Consultant specializing in Mindfulness Education. She is a nationally recognized presenter, teacher trainer and instructor and began her career in the early childhood classroom. For the past 20 years she has created yoga and mindfulness inspired as well as educationally and scientifically based programming that has resonated with school leaders, educators, parents, children and executives. In her work with educators she advocates, nurtures and supports teacher learning, development and growth. Her track record shows that she has what it takes to help make a good teacher great and a great teacher even greater. She proudly graduated from Chatham College in 1981 with a self-designed major in Moral Education and a minor in Ballet. Join Chatham fitness instructor Melanie Basl for a 45 minute Hip Hop Cardio workout. Hip Hop Cardio is a dash of dance with a heaping dose of cardio. Mix that with great music and you'll forget you're even working out! While Hip Hop Cardio is a high intensity cardio class, all fitness levels can participate with lesser impact. After registration, you will receive a zoom link to join the Hip Hop Cardio Class via email on Tuesday, December 8th, 2020. Melanie Basl has been a group fitness instructor since 2014. She was encouraged by Danielle Pais, Chatham’s Assistant Director of Athletics & Facilities to become a fitness instructor and began teaching classes at Chatham from 2014 until 2017. In late 2017 she found out she was having her son and went from teaching 9 classes per week down to 3.. She started her group fitness career with HipHop Cardio and quickly became a certified instructor in Insanity, P90X and Core De Force Live formats through Beachbody LLC. Melanie has 6 years of group fitness experience and has been an athlete her entire life and enjoys basketball, softball and especially bowling.
