Dining Services

Parkhurst Dining offers students a number of delicious and healthful dining options, with meal plans that focus on wellness and are designed to fit the busy lifestyle of today's students. We aim to make eating on campus easy and appetizing by offering a variety of options emphasizing fresh, local ingredients, as well as vegan and vegetarian meals and gluten-free options.

Meal Plan Options

These plans give our diners control and flexibility along with the best value for the dollar. All meal plans, flex and Cougar Dollars can be used at any Chatham dining location. 

Meal Plan Requirements 

  • All first-year students must participate in the Chatham Unlimited Plan.
  • All 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year students living on Chatham Upper Campus, must select from one of the three Shadyside Upper Campus plans.
  • All non-first-year Chatham Lower Campus Apartment residents must select an Apartment or Shadyside Upper Campus meal plan.
  • Eden Hall Campus residents must participate in the Eden Hall plan.
  • Non-resident (commuter) students can select from any of the meal plans and participation is completely voluntary.

Cougar Dollars: For those who want to add extra dining dollars to their cards, these are sold in blocks of $50. For every $50 in Cougar Dollars you purchase, you receive $55 to spend. Cougar Dollars roll over from term to term and year to year as long as you are a member of the Chatham community. Cougar Dollars can be purchased by anyone in the Chatham community with a valid ID, even if you do not have a meal plan.

Flex dollars are included in each meal plan and can be used at any Chatham dining facility: Shadyside, Eastside Cafe, Cafe Rachel or the Eden Hall Dining Commons. Flex dollars roll over fall term to spring term, with the purchase of a spring meal plan, but expire at the end of the spring term. Meals do not roll over from term to term.  

Upper Campus (Residence Halls)

All meal plan selections are priced for term only. Students can make changes to their meal plans from the first day of classes through noon on add/drop day. 

Chatham Unlimited

This plan is required for all first-year residents and for the student who wants to be able to come and go from Anderson and grab a bite at any time of the day or evening. There are unlimited meals with this plan for use in Anderson and $50 in flex for use in Café Rachel or Eastside Café. Cost is $3,400 per term for academic year 2024-2025.

Chatham 14 Meal Plan

This plan is for the active student who plans on taking most of their meals in Anderson. There are 14 meals per week and $100 in flex dollars per term included. This plan is structured so that a student has an average of two meals per day throughout the term. Cost is $2,700 per term for academic year 2024-2025.

Chatham 10 Meal Plan 

This plan is for the student who does not always get out of bed and might miss breakfast or not be on campus during some of the meal periods. There are 150 meals, or an average of ten per week throughout the term, and $150 in flex dollars per term included. This plan is structured to offer more flexibility. Cost is $2,100 per term for academic year 2024-2025.

Lower Campus (Apartments) and Commuters

While lower campus residential students and commuters are able to select any of the Chatham plans, the following meal plans are built to give a little more flexibility to those that have access to kitchens. Commuter students are not required to have a meal plan. 

Apartment Premium Meal Plan

6 meals a week, $500 in Flex Dollars. Cost is per term for academic year 2024-2025 is $1,750 per term

Apartment Primary Meal Plan

4 meals a week, $250 in Flex Dollars. Cost is per term for academic year 2024-2025 is $1,050 per term

Orchard Hall at Eden Hall Campus

For residents of Orchard Hall at Eden Hall Campus, this plan provides continuous access to the Eden Hall Dining Commons. 

Enter and exit the Dining Commons as frequently as you'd like and eat as many meals as you'd like. This plan is only available to residents of Orchard Hall. This averages to 17 meals a week and can be redeemed at any Chatham Dining Hall.  Cost is $3,000 per term for academic year 2024-2025 and includes $350 flex dollars.
